Jagan To Spend More Time In Tadepalli From Now On

YSR Congress Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is learnt to have decided to change his political strategy in view of the changing political situation in the state and the upcoming local body elections.

According to party sources, Jagan has decided to make himself more regularly available to party leaders and cadres and remain more accessible from Tadepalli as the YSRCP prepares to face the local elections.

Following the YSRCP’s defeat in the 2024 Assembly elections, Jagan has generally been available in Tadepalli for about three days a week, spending the remaining days in Bengaluru. Party leaders say this pattern has continued for nearly 27 months.

During this period, Jagan has travelled to various districts mainly to visit families and individuals and respond to local issues. Most of the party’s organisational meetings have also been held at Tadepalli.

Jagan had earlier planned to undertake a padayatra next year as part of his efforts to reconnect with people across the state. However, party sources now indicate that he has altered his plans in response to changing political circumstances.

As part of the revised strategy, Jagan is expected to spend more time in Tadepalli and remain available to party leaders and cadres on a more regular basis. Sources said his visits to Bengaluru would be limited to occasional trips rather than being part of a fixed weekly routine.

The YSRCP leadership is also preparing a schedule of meetings in selected Assembly constituencies and districts as part of its efforts to strengthen the party organisation ahead of the local body elections.

Jagan is scheduled to hold a meeting with key party leaders on September 8. The meeting is expected to finalise a detailed action plan for the party’s organisational and political activities in the coming months.
